Yoshitaka Amano

Amano has worked on a variety of projects - designing characters (or doing art for) video games and storyboarding/designing for animation. He has also pubished some sequential art books.

His style seems to be almost antique, drawing probably from artists like Klimt and Beardsley, and combining that with a delicate line quality, and a fantasy-esque mood, with subtle, understated colors.

My favorite artist, elegant, dreamlike, and erotic. I very much wish his illustrations for 1001 Nights, his "Alice" and his tarot were available in the U.S.
