Ray Caesar

Ray Caesar's work is both brilliant and creepy. It is done entirely digital, and, for the most part, three-dimensionally. He makes 3D models, with moveable skeletons so that he can move them into position, and captures all of his own textures from the outside world to paint them with. His girls are both doll-like and strangely sinister, period pieces in corsets and hoop skirts and powder wigs that are hyper-sensualized in a subtle way, and sometimes threaten the viewer with staring eyes, perhaps just having committed some atrocity.
